Amarnath Yatra Helicopter Bookings Open From June 29, 2024!
Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board(SASB) stated that the Amarnath Yatra helicopter bookings are open for a 52-day long pilgrimage, starting from June 29, 2024, until August 19, 2024.
This time Amarnath Yatra Helicopter bookings can be opted from the Baltal and Pahalgam routes. The best part about this year’s Amarnath Yatra is that it coincides with the Raksha Bandhan and the Shravana Purnima making it more significant to attract more Amarnath Yatra online bookings.
About Amarnath Yatra
The Amarnath Yatra is a revered Hindu pilgrimage to the Amarnath cave in the Himalayas where the ice-form lingam shapes naturally, only from June to August end. With an altitude of about 3,888 meters which is over 12,756 feet, pilgrims here need to follow the rugged terrains that are hard and can’t be attained easily.

The fare for a one-way trip from Pahalgam to Panjtarni is fixed at around INR 4,900 and the round trip here costs around INR 9,800. For the other route from Neelgrath to Panjtarni route the fare is around INR 3,250 and the round trip will cost around INR 6,500.
Challenges In Amarnath Yatra Helicopter Bookings
Official sources of SASB board members also stated that the online bookings for the helicopter services are on a first-come-first-serve basis and will be directly provided to the pilgrims and cannot be availed offline. Other challenges reported here are that the Amarnath Yatra helicopter journey from the route of Panjtarni and the cave is a bit time-consuming as the terrain has strong winds and a gushy altitude. So there is a 5-6 hour gap between each trip making it hard to find the spot in Amarnath online bookings.
Requirements For Amarnath Yatra Helicopter Bookings
The SASB board also stated that to enjoy this sacred helicopter ride, pilgrims are entitled to carry an original government-issued photo identity and a health certificate. They must firmly adhere to the timings by reaching at least 30 minutes before the booking slot timings to enjoy a hassle-free journey.

Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board members are doing their best by progressing the preparations for this sacred yatra from April 15, 2024, and one that proves these efforts is the installation of the 125 Langars aka community kitchens.
