Cruise In Ayodhya: Uttar Pradesh Launches Exciting Water Tourism
Uttar Pradesh is getting ready to start water tourism in its well-known cities of Ayodhya, Mathura, and Kashi. The cruise in Ayodhya is set to be the highlight of this initiative. The state will soon bring in new, open-top catamaran boats for tourists. These boat tours are expected to make these cities more popular with visitors. Officials hope this will help the state’s already improving tourism industry grow.
Uttar Pradesh Expands Water Tourism With New Boats
Uttar Pradesh is working with the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) to grow its water tourism. The state plans to add six new catamaran boats for tourists in Ayodhya, Mathura, and Kashi.
Each city will get two new boats. These boats will take visitors on sightseeing trips along the rivers, showing off the beauty of these important places in Uttar Pradesh.
Right now, Ayodhya and Kashi each have one catamaran that can carry 50 people. The new boats will have some special features:
- They will be open on all sides
- They will have a deck
- They will include a small kitchen area
- They will have toilets
These features will help tourists enjoy the scenery while having a comfortable boat ride. Catamaran boats in Kashi Ayodhya are becoming increasingly popular, offering unique perspectives of these historic cities from the water.

- Water sports
The minister emphasised the state’s potential for water tourism. “The new catamaran boats are just the beginning”, he explained. Singh also revealed some impressive numbers. Last year, over 480 million tourists visited Uttar Pradesh. They came to see a wide range of attractions, including religious sites, spiritual places, and eco-tourism locations.
New Boats Boost Tourism In Uttar Pradesh
The Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) has sent new electric boats to Prayagraj. These include:
- Two mini-cruise boats that can carry 30 people each
- Six motorboats
- Two rescue boats
These boats will start running after the rainy season ends. Uttar Pradesh is adding more ways for tourists to enjoy water activities. They already have open catamaran boats. Now, with these new electric boats, there will be even more options, including a cruise excursion in Kashi that promises to offer a unique perspective of the ancient city.
Jaiveer Singh further said, “Soon, tourists from India and other countries will have more ways to see our state”. This plan aims to bring in more visitors and make tourism in Uttar Pradesh even better.
