Gujarat Garba Dance Makes Way To UNESCO’s ICH List
The most popular and traditional Gujarat Garba dance recently made its way to UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage Of Humanity list, which is a significant milestone.
This dance is performed in community circles where men and women dress up and perform the dance.
The inclusion of Garba to the list marks the 15th ICH element to be added to the distinguished list from India, which is a reason to be proud of our culture.
Garba is deeply rooted in ritualistic and devotional practices and plays a huge role in encouraging social and gender inclusivity. It brings diverse communities together in a celebration of cultural vibrancy and richness.
Union Minister G Kishan Reddy took to social media to express the nation’s pride in getting this recognition.
