As per the legend, Janapav Hills in Indore is the birthplace of Lord Vishnu’s reincarnation as Lord Parshuram. At the top of the hill, there is the Ashram of Jamadagi, the father of Parshuram. Parshuram’s mother Renuka is known as a renowned medical practitioner and has grown numerous plants and herbs on the hill and its surroundings. 

One of the legends also states that around twelve rivers come from a tank also known as Kund situated on Janapav Hills in Indore including Chambal, Saraswati, and Nakheri.

The nearest airport to Janapav Hills in Indore is Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport. Upon reaching the airport you can hire a cab to Janapav Hills. The airport is around 46 km from Janaav Hills.

1. Jamadagni Ashram

Jamadagni Ashram is a Lord Parshuram Father’s Ashram. You can see the Shiv Ling near the ashram. It is a one-storey small building. You can find the Ashram on the hilltop at Janapav Hills. 

2. Sheetla Mata Waterfall

Around 13 km from Janapav Hills in Indore is Sheetla Mata Waterfall. It is one of the religious places to visit near Janapav Hills. The height of the waterfall is 500m. Beside the waterfall is Sheetla Mata Temple. 

Many devotees as well as tourists come during monsoon to visit the temple and enjoy the waterfall. From the base village, the trek is around 1-2 hours long to reach Sheetla Mata Waterfall. The place also has 3 caves and is believed that the Holkar and Pindhari Army used to hide in those caves. 

3. Tincha Waterfall

Tincha Waterfall is around 47 km from Janapav Hills. A 300-foot magnificent cascading waterfall near Indore is one of the best places tourists want to visit. It is a popular tourist spot during monsoon. Tincha Falls dries up in the summer season. 

Swimming in the waterfall is not allowed, and during August the flow of the waterfall is very heavy. You have to be a little careful of monkeys as there are many monkeys in the area.

4. Bamniya Kund Waterfall

Another waterfall at a distance of 26 km from Janapav Hills is one of the popular places among tourists. This waterfall is near Mhow. The place is to be visited during monsoon to enjoy the lush green forest and pleasant weather.
