Kazakhstan has introduced the Neo-Nomad Visa in Kazakhstan, a new initiative aimed at attracting the growing community of remote workers around the world. Announced under the directive of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Neo-Nomad Visa in Kazakhstan is designed specifically for digital nomads—foreign tourists who work remotely while traveling.

This innovative visa allows individuals to live in Kazakhstan for up to one year while working for foreign companies, making it a prime destination for those seeking a blend of cultural experiences and productivity.

The Kazakhstan Digital Nomad Visa is part of the country’s broader economic diversification strategy. By offering a visa tailored to remote workers, Kazakhstan hopes to attract professionals in fields such as software development, marketing, finance, consulting, and e-commerce.

These individuals can now enjoy the flexibility to choose their work location while benefiting from the vibrant cities of Kazakhstan, including Almaty and Astana, which are already ranked among the top global destinations for remote work.

To qualify for the Kazakhstan remote work visa, applicants must meet specific requirements. They need to prove they have a steady income of at least USD 3,000

from foreign employment and provide proof of health insurance. A clean criminal record certificate is also required as part of the application process. Notably, the visa ensures that digital nomads do not compete with local talent, as they must remain employed by a company outside of Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan is committed to becoming a prominent hub for digital nomads, and the introduction of the Neo-Nomad Visa in Kazakhstan reflects this ambition.

With over 35 million digital nomads worldwide, this move positions Kazakhstan as a top destination for those seeking adventure, culture, and a productive work environment. The Kazakhstan Digital Nomad Visa will further bolster the country’s appeal, contributing to both its tourism industry and the growing global remote work trend.
