This Summer Get Ready For The Purushwadi Fireflies Festival

The Purushwadi Festival is an annual event celebrated in the month of May and June right after the monsoon season. It is celebrated in Maharashtra’s Purushwadi Village, which is a small village in the Ahmednagar district, where millions of fireflies come out during the night and light up the forests, which is an eye soothing view. This year the festival will take place in the third week of May.

The locals as well as tourists can enjoy a range of activities including night walks through the forest and experience the magic themselves. It looks like the place is covered with very tiny Christmas lights. The festival has helped boost the local economy and also in helping generate employment to the locals.
