The Initiative from the Sri Lanka Government was initially introduced as a pilot project in October which was a strategic effort of a plan to revitalize the tourism industry in Sri Lanka.

You need to hurry up with this as the free visa has a validity of only 30 days, which mainly aims to promote travel and exploration within the picturesque island of the country.

Despite these issues, there’s been a slight increase in the talk happening about a company that is charging a lot for visas, hence the Sri Lanka government has decided to stick to its decision by keeping the visa fee at $50 for those people who are visiting for those 30 days.

  • Filling up an online form on the official website is a must before your arrival and you need to pay the minimum fee which is needed. 
  • You also have to show that you’ve already booked your return flight or have plans to travel to another place after visiting Sri Lanka. Plus, you need to prove that you’ve arranged where you’ll stay while you’re there.
  • If you’re coming from a place where there’s a risk of yellow fever, you might need to show a certificate proving you’ve been vaccinated against it.
