Inside, the 3,800-square-foot area showcases a thoughtfully chosen selection of art, including paintings, glass sculptures, and mid-century modern furniture. What makes this project truly unique is its floating structure, designed to travel to various cities around the world that are battling the effects of climate change. The Floating Glass Museum will make stops in cities like Singapore, Dubai, Hong Kong, New York, and Busan, offering a platform to discuss and reflect on the pressing issues of rising sea levels and extreme weather events.
The Italian architectural studio, Luca Curci Architects, finds inspiration in Venice’s traditional glassmaking heritage, a craft that has been refined for over 1,500 years. Inside the museum, visitors will encounter a variety of glass sculptures and other artworks that reflect the fragility and resilience of the Earth’s ecosystems.
