Riding Through The Rough Terrains Of Leh Ladakh, My childhood Dream Come True – Abhijeet

In Destination, Ladakh, Travel, Travel Journal

The moment I started riding my bike in the rugged terrain of Ladakh, I knew I was in for an extraordinary journey. The air was crisp and thin, carrying the essence of adventure, while the panoramic vistas stretched before me, promising an unforgettable experience.

I have been following WanderOn on Instagram for a year now. I knew a solo bike trip to Ladakh was not feasible. I decided to take the risk for my first-ever group bike trip.

It was a trip that held deep significance for me. My long-cherished dream of exploring Ladakh was finally coming true. And what made it even more special was the impeccable planning by WanderOn Travel. They understood my craving for mountains and culture and designed the perfect Ladakh tour package.

My Childhood Dream Come True

I felt like a real explorer, cruising through the breathtaking landscapes and feeling the cool breeze on my face. Every twist and turn was like a bit of adventure, and the best part? I was on a bike, just like I always dreamt of.

From being a solo bike rider to joining a lively community of fellow riders, my adventure in the magnetic hills of Ladakh took an exciting twist. I joined a group of like-minded adventurers, and suddenly, it wasn’t just me and my bike against the world; it was all of us sharing stories, laughter, and the thrill of the road. The magnetic hills felt even more magical as we rode together, each turn becoming a shared memory.

From trading travel tips to celebrating small victories, being part of the group brought a whole new dimension to my Ladakh journey. We explored hidden spots, faced challenges together, and cheered each other on – it was like having a bunch of buddies on this epic ride.

I had one of my friends on this journey, and the rest were made on the travel journey.

Going solo gave me a lot of independence while riding the bike. Stopping at any serene point or sitting in the lapse of nature and just adoring nature’s beauty while being on my own.

Pangong Tso Lake – Unreal Beauty

Riding my bike to Pangong Lake in Ladakh was like living in a dream. The journey was just as unique as the destination itself. The road was a bit bumpy, but that made it exciting! I could feel the wind on my face, and the mountains seemed to say hello as I passed.

As I approached Pangong Lake, I couldn’t believe my eyes. The water was sparkling like diamonds, and the colours were unreal – different shades of blue I had never seen before. I parked my bike and sat by the lake, feeling so peaceful.

And then, there it was – Pangong Lake, a breathtaking masterpiece nestled among the mountains.

The water sparkled like it held a piece of the sky, and the mountains stood tall like guardians of this magical place. I parked my bike and sat by the shore, gazing at the scene that seemed straight out of a dream.

But you know what the best part was? The journey back. Riding through those mountains with the memory of the beautiful lake in my heart, I realised that the trip was a big part of the adventure. It’s not just about getting somewhere; it’s about enjoying every moment. As I headed back, the dusty road felt different this time. I was more attentive, catching every twist and turn with a newfound skill. The dust on my face? It had become a badge of honour, a sign that I had taken on the rugged beauty of Ladakh.

Amidst the whirlwind of everyday life, there’s a treasure we often forget to cherish – “me time.”

Everybody needs a break, and mine was long overdue. You see, there was this dream of riding through the rugged terrains of Ladakh, a plan I held close like a secret treasure chest. And it was time to unlock it.

My family, my amazing wife and my adorable daughter became my partners in this adventure. They understood the importance of “me time” in this crazy world. They saw the tiredness in my eyes, the longing for something more than lines of code. And so, they encouraged me, cheered for me, and sent me off on that long-dreamt bike trip to Ladakh.

As I revved up the engine and felt the wind on my face, I realised that this journey wasn’t just about the miles on the road but about reclaiming a piece of myself that often gets lost in the rush. It was about finding joy amid responsibilities, about embracing the adventurer within the software engineer.

From one traveller to another: Some tips for visiting Leh Ladakh
