Capital City All Set To Have Pink Parks To Create A Safe Space For Women
Delhi Government is all set to establish women-only parks for the women in the city in an attempt to make a safer space for them. Men will not be allowed anywhere near these parks, and it would be exclusively for women.
According to reports, the inspection for the sites has already begun and will also be called a women-only-pink park. Deputy Mayor Aaley Mohammad Iqbal announced the statement and further added that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal initiated the idea.
The MCD(Municipal Corporation of Delhi) has 250 wards in its jurisdiction, and the Chief Minister has stated that there should be one women-only park in every ward.
Furthermore, Deputy Mayor also revealed that these parks would have CCTV cameras, a gym, toilets, and graffiti on the wall.
The counsellors will identify one park in every ward and convert it into a women-only park. The initiative has been taken considering women’s safety and comfort.
